Advocacy

The Governor's Office of Small, Minority & Women Business Affairs helps all small businesses compete with confidence in both the public and private sectors while implementing the Small Business Reserve (SBR) and Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) programs across 70 state agencies.

All agencies that participate in the MBE and SBR programs staff a liaison.  The liaison reviews agency contracting procedures to ensure compliance and coordinates the agencies outreach efforts to the small and minority business communities.

In 2009, Maryland created a Fraud Hotline for the purpose of reporting potential violations against a certified MBE. A call to the hotline will trigger an investigation. The more details you provide, the better chance we have of determining whether fraud has been committed. Callers may remain anonymous. If you suspect fraud against an MBE, call 410-697-9611.
